GAME RESCHEDULED: 2 PM SATURDAY AT YORK SUBURBAN
According to Mayor Lutz, a suspect has been apprehended related to tonight's public safety threat during the Columbia-York Suburban game.
"Everyone left the stadium in an orderly fashion. No one panicked," former Councilman Jim Smith said. Smith is a member of the Columbia High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and was a presenter at tonight's ceremony.

If the person is guilty, prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, no plea bargain deals and publish name if they are a minor. Make examples of these people. A nice evening to honor former athletes ruined by some inconsiderate person . Make them pay!!!

We should be proud of what we got!
In the last 2 months, our police department has been tested with snipers, shootings, and possible threats of shooting or a bomb threat. They responded quickly and made arrests or still are investigating a crime scene. I know some make fun of them, but for a small Dept. they are doing a great job. Hats off to chief Brommer and crew.
Someone gave credibility to an anonymous tip. Did they do the right thing Mr. Mayor?
Those of us who pay taxes here are not truly listened to by the people that are entrusted with operating the schools. The "fix " that was contrived with Elanco is a perfect example.
Young people are moving out.
New folks have no reason to move in because of the schools and the crime rate and the excessive tax burden.
What does this say about our town's future?
Are we really going to accept the takeover of our schools ,so that one person can have his dream job? Sue the board members who now support this 'Fix".
Scrap the Elanco debacle and fix the schools. Good students deserve it because they can help with our town's future.
America wake up! As we turn on the television, pick up a newspaper,listen to a radio, we see or hear of shootings, hostage.takings,corruptness in government,sports,industry,schools,and churches. Broken marriages seem to be the norm, television shows where violence and bed-hopping are common.No wonder the kids are like they are today.When I was growing up the television shows were clean and the activities we did were more fun than destructive
There are a lot of of good kids out there, but it is a shame of the few bad that make it sad for them. It is time the parents and adults teach wholesome values to the young . I am sure that by doing that, schools and society will be great again. America can.meet this challenge. God bless America.
How true. He ought to tell Crimestoppers that Lancaster County has that anonymous tips are not good. He would be laughed at..Leo,how many crimes are solved.by anonymous tips!
Don't forget about the old folks that have to move out of a town that they have been born and raised in AND supported for decades of tax dollars. Very sad. It's almost as if Columbia doesn't want them here.
They get paid very well for for what they do! This towm is in shambles!!
