Still reeling from an abrupt firing from his role as head of the Columbia Market House in March, Chris Vera was surprised to get a letter in the mail from a Columbia Borough attorney two weeks later telling him he was banned indefinitely from borough property. The letter gave no reason for the ban. Nine months later, Vera, who has served as president of the Columbia Historic Preservation Society for more than a decade and has helped with the borough’s comprehensive plan, is still banned from borough property. He believes the ban includes borough parks, which is part of the reason he moved his annual Albatwitch Day festival, which celebrates the myth of a local cryptid, to Wrightsville. On another note, if I was forced to pull over by a gang of kids (carrying who knows what weapons with who knows what intent ) I would've pulled out more than a knife. Good for him for protecting his family and standing his ground. Flag is our history, get over it.
and also, I do believe that the Police Officers ONLY DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD AND ALLOWED. TAKE THIS TO THE CHIEF AND MAYOR. NOT THE OFFICERS! After all, we ALL have a Supervisor whom we answer to (if we work for a living) Wouldn't it be awesome IF people WOULD step up and go to the next Council Mtg and demand answers from the Chief and Mayor??? After all dummies, we are paying dearly for the services which on the most part i too feel are overburdened with tenants, renters and people who just don't give a damn.
