Email ELANCO to get your voice heard

Columbia Spy recently obtained a copy of an email from an ELANCO Board member stating that the majority of comments received have been favorable towards the shared services contract. The email did not state the number of comments received, but residents opposed to the contract should also make their opinions known to the ELANCO School Board and administrators via email:

ELANCO (and Columbia) superintendent:
robert_hollister@elanco.org

ELANCO chief of finance and operations:
keith_ramsey@elanco.org

To Cole Umber...Let's make copies of all the comments over the last week or so on Columbia Spy and take them to each Elanco board member....I will pay for the copies and I will drive...

Let's make sure that the Elanco board member who is not understanding the situation is invited to our next board meeting.

Not a bad idea.

I am AMAZED that the Elanco school board directors ONLY received POSITIVE communications from Columbia. Sounds like there was an early attempt from "camp Tom" to make sure he retained this position and that the contract remain in tact. Good luck with that, you're gonna need it!!!

We need to find an Elanco resident who will speak for us at Elanco's board meetings. Someone out there in our town has to know an Elanco resident.

Seems there was an early attempt to make Elanco feel warm and fuzzy!

We can find other ways to communicate. Email, petitions, or even going to their meetings and holding signs up. This is what we are forced to do, the result of a bad school board decision. This was not thought out at all!

The comments on this site are overwhelmingly negative about the doo and this stupid agreement. Flooding Elanco's board members with communication that is true, may produce better results than working with our 6 board members who appear to be biased in favor of the doo and the agreement ...in that order.

We need to follow through on this. Maybe Elanco's board needs to be embarrassed into action on this. We might have better results if they know the truth. The people of Columbia did nothing wrong. This situation is the result of 6 board members following the lead of one certain person for personal gain. Maybe Elanco's board members need to read the history of how one person tried and failed to gain this same thing 4 years ago and suddenly became the so called perfect candidate this time.

AGREE!!!! How can 6 board members cause this much of a problem for 10,000 people? Many of our taxpayers do not make as much money as the doo gets in benefits!!!!!!

It sounds like the mayor also put pressure on them to vote for the contract.

Our taxpayers will not let this debacle continue. This is not over, the fight has just begun. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". Education is a public trust and ,as such, should not be violated.

It appears that Elanco's choice for the doo has caused alarm and has sent up red flags...scary...Yes. Can Elanco's judgement be trusted in other matters if this was so poorly handled? Their board needs to know this. Agree . Flood them with communication.

Contacting Elanco' s board is a great idea!! Mr. Hollister has let it be known that he does not want negative comments to reach his board members because they are not all in favor of this embarrassing fiasco . Let's flood them with our thoughts, however negative they may be, about this seemingly unethical situation. They surely do not want to be part of the ethics investigation.

That's one of my favorite lines. Thanks for sharing it here.

Excellent point.

Elanco's choice of the doo, was possibly premeditated, vetted improperly, the resume was not authenticated, or a terrible error on the part of those people involved was made. It appears that the people of Columbia do not want this chosen person to be the doo nor do they want this contract where we pay to give our district away. Tell Elanco's board!!!

If Hollister does not want negative comments to reach his board he must have part communism in him. They only let the people hear what they want them to hear.

Part Communism or part Columbian, they don't want negative comments here either even when they are true. Ignore the truth to keep the positive spin going.

Been reading and questioning in my mind, asking what part of Strickler's resume is false and just saying, that should have or would have been discovered during a background check. Not pro or com against this, just wpuld like to know because since he has been hired. It is a public document.
