Shooting picked up by pro-gun site - and more info

Friday morning's shooting incident in Columbia in which two teens shot at police officers has been picked up by an online publication titled Bearing Arms, which is apparently affiliated with the National Rifle Association.  The article's pro-gun slant unfortunately devolves into a slam against the press for creating a culture that puts police lives in danger.

The article states, in part: "This attempted assassination of Columbia, PA police is being largely ignored by a mainstream media attempting to dodge responsibility for the officers they’ve put at risk by crafting anti-police narratives . . ."

The complete article is HERE.

On Friday morning, Columbia Spy twice observed Trenton Nace being allowed outside behind the Columbia Police Station for a "smoke break," each time accompanied by an officer. Both times, Nace behaved defiantly toward members of the press, who were standing at a nearby parking lot.

Since when who attempts 'Criminal Homicide of Law Enforcement Officer" be allowed unshackled and with one good step can run, have a good smoke behind the Station. If this would go viral with what is going on currently in our nation, we will look to weak to all criminals.

It does make you wonder.

Very weak!!! I cannot believe this was allowed. Although, that being said it seems as if the Columbia Police are easily intimated by unruly residents. Terrorists in this community are allowed to intimidate and harass and nothing is done. They seem almost afraid of these type of instigators. Would be nice to have Lancaster Police patrol these mean streets for a while. Then maybe we can feel safe in our own neighborhoods. Really need an investigation into why some people can get away with the inhumane treatment of others and not face jail time.

Inexcusable act. To allow him to enjoy a cigarette after terrorizing the town.

I can not believe they would leave him uncuffed. I hope he enjoyed that cigarette, because when he arrived at the East King Street condos, (Lancaster County Prison) he would never get that freedom. The next cigarette he might get is when he goes upstate. Inmates have more freedom there than at LCP.

Well said! And it's not just these two, there are those in this town that see to be able to do whatever they want and nothing is done about it even though if it were anyone else we would have been arrested a long time ago. Being afraid to prosecute someone because of their sexual preference is no excuse!!!!! Let them throw a fit, scream discrimination all they want, they should be treated the same as everyone else. Don't get me wrong, I support the columbia police department, they are a great group of officers but I would welcome Lancaster Police with open arms, then the illegal activity would stop real fast.

...because Lancaster City is a paradise with absolutely no crime?

I wonder if some of the people that comment here have ever been out in the real world. Some of the stuff they type is unbelievable.

All of you sound like you've never been outside your door in Columbia. It is and always has been EXTREMELY corrupt. I've personally witnessed certain people commit crimes and the police, among others, cater to them as if they are victims. I'm not at all shocked by this. Look at the element that lives in Columbia. It's all the same.
