Sahd stated: "Columbia is a heritage-rich yet financially poor community. We believe in providing our community with every opportunity to tell us how to spend its hard-earned money. And it did. By a margin of nearly 3 to 1, citizens asked Columbia Borough Council to continue advertising with LNP, even though it cost them and fellow taxpayers twice as much. We respect our citizens’ wishes.
We stayed with LNP not because of your Philadelphia lawyers’ attempt to intimidate us, but only because of the respect we have for the voices of Columbia’s citizens whom we ultimately serve."

Providing our community with every opportunity to tell us how to spend its hard-earned money? Since when? Really, when did this start?
Was this letter written as satire?
there WAS a survey, too bad if you didn't fill it out and return it to the Boro. How dare LNP try to intimidate with fancy lawyers. Guess what LNP???? I'm done. I refuse to purchase your paper ever again. I hope others follow suit. next it will be the tv news stations who ONLY ever report on the BAD things that happen in Columbia & NEVER the good. We don't need you LNP.
There were several very nice articles done by LNP this year about Columbia. The SCCA Summer Art Camp, the hiring of a school Resource Officer, Memorial Day Parade, Community Railroad Safety Day, Community Discussion on Heroin, Columbia police raise money for cancer research, Market House, Trolley, one on Jonal Gallery, to name a few. If you want to call those articles negative there is a need to read them again. If the borough had to pay LNP for all of the articles listed above, then they would have something to complain about. If you can't handle the truth, whether good or bad, that's "too bad."
Do you think that Central Penn Business Journal would send staff and cover stories about the Trolley and the Summer Arts Camp? So you want to save money on legal ads with CPBJ and at the same time you want to continue being showered with only good news FREE stories in LNP. A total news blackout of Columbia would be great except the officials would like it way too much.
Would Central Penn have a reporter at every Columbia Borough Council meeting? NO
LNP is the only place the citizens can go for information besides the Columbia Borough website.
At least the borough asked for citizen input. LNP has a better circulation than the Business Journal.I think it would be safe to say no citizens get the journal and if the borough would have went with the Journal, all the zoning meetings and special council meetings would go unnoticed. That could create problems and less public input.
and LEGAL NOTICES are not listed at the Borough Website. They could be with virtually NO COST to the borough. If the borough was interested in conserving dollars, transparency and sharing information with citizens and stakeholders ...
