Feel bad for this guy and I really hope he wasn't trying to kill himself.

On a separate note...the traffic control during this was HEINOUS! The incident occurred at 2:30 pm. From 2:30-4:30 there were 4 traffic police dispatched according to LCWC online webcade. It was not until 4:30 that they got another 4 traffic units out there. This meant that my husband spent 2.5 hours (YES YOU READ CORRECTLY) stuck between the Mountville and Prospect Road exits.

From the pics on WGAL it did not appear that the tractor trailer overturned, lost its load or in any other way compromised BOTH lanes of travel. Why was it necessary to fully shut down the road for 3 HOURS!!! Couldn't they have allowed one lane to pass! Additionally, 4 fire police units (normally comprised of elderly men) were woefully inadequate to deal with the rigors of managing that much traffic. They should have had 8 units out there to begin with in anticipation of rush hour!

I agree that the traffic situation could have been handled better if more personnel had been dispatched, but I'm guessing the accident site was closed off to facilitate the investigation. A two-and-a-half hour wait between the exits is ridiculous, though.

they need to do mock trials...so they know how to handle the extreme number of vehicles in a couple hour span....thank God no one else was hurt.
