Burned thermostat triggers fire call

A thermostat was the cause of an emergency call this afternoon at Advance Auto Parts in the Columbia Plaza. Firefighters found that even though the thermostat had burned, the air conditioning kept running. Personnel checked the roof of the building and the store's interior.

Did the police show up??
Seems the Columbia Police could do with a overhaul!
They are quite pick and choose where and when their available.

Why would the police show up at a fire investigation? I drove by this. Fire police had the traffic under control. I certainly don't want my tax dollar paying for a police officer to stand around and do nothing! Pointless police bashing!

What outdoor movie? Please elaborate.

Do nothing?? And not bashing, the police serve a purpose.

The police don't normally show up on a fire call unless it involves a traffic accident or some other incident that would need police investigation.

There is a white stand up sign advertising the movies, last Saturday it was cancelled due to weather I think.

And exactly what purpose would they serve at this fire call? (That is a rhetorical question as I know the answer, which is "nothing".)
