What's the speed of a Sunday afternoon? Two accidents per hour

The Jeep Cherokee shown below was traveling in the westbound lane on the Veterans Memorial Bridge (Route 462) at about three o'clock this afternoon when it was struck by a Chevy Cavalier traveling east. The Jeep, which was reportedly just purchased yesterday, lost a rear driver's side wheel, while the Chevy sustained front end damage, including a severely damaged front driver's side wheel. The accident occurred just beyond the plaza near the entrance to the bridge on the Columbia side. Both vehicles were hauled away by Midway Collision Shop within the hour.

50 minutes later, at about 4 p.m., officers left the scene to respond to another accident a block away at Third and Poplar Streets, where a Hyundai Elantra had apparently "T-boned" a Chevy Trail Blazer.  Air bags deployed in both vehicles.

People have forgotten how to drive. They are so busy talking, texting or just in a hurry they don't pay attention to the road.

And just plain selfish,,,,,,,

Maybe not in this case, but in general, people are careless, wreckless, and they drive with no courtesy for others, bicyclists, pedestrians, drivers, but with their needs first. They are always in a hurry which places others at risk. Bring back tough drivers Ed classes.

Actually they're not "wreckless" - they may be reckless.

In the first accudent, speed was not a factor. One of the drivers became ill, and passed out. So everyone that's assuming they know what happen, and are posting all these negative comments need to get your facts.you all need to keep in mind every accident doesn't mean there on the phone or whatever, some accidents are true accidents and people already feel bad without having to read negative post.

That's correct. The accident was most likely related to a driver's medical condition.
