just read columbia news views and reviews i can NOT believe Boro COuncil approved to enter into discussion with LASA...........this is bs. it's ridiculous. all because of 1 --- who has no clue. who came out of the woodwork NOW after at least 5 years of mtgs.ALL PUBLIC MTGS TOO... taxpayers NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU WANT.....AND I THINK IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK YOU'LL SEE THAT LASA IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT THE ANSWER.......this was SUPPOSED to be a done deal 5 years ago BUT Norm just can NOT let it go. Makes you wondeer just what the hell is going on....
to NOT OWN AND CONTROL OUR OWN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO.....YOU MAY AS WELL START NAILING ALL THE COFFINS...THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE A GHOST TOWN. LASA made statements at these mtgs that now this ---- is trying to explain away. i can NOT believe that council just sits and doesn't say anything.,they don't correct the misinformation.. WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR TOWN YESTERDAY - here is what cola news views says:

Last night, the Columbia Borough changed the flow of sewer discussion and decided, in a 5-1 vote, that the borough would enter into discussion with the Lancaster Area Sewer Authority for the operation of and possible purchase of the entire Wast Water Treatment System.

WHY does council listen ONLY to Norm...the residents HAVE spoken. you don't hear any of us complaining about upgrading the plant or building a new one....it's the ONLY CORRECT decision. we do NOT want ANYTHING to do with LASA....i don't think this whole thing should be opened up AGAIN. been there . done that. Decision WAS made.

Council - you are supposed to act with the best interests of the residents at heart. NOT entertain Norm and all his whims. I ENCOURAGE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU COUNCILORS TO EDUCATE YOURSELVES.... LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT !! THEY ARE THE SPECIALISTS !

East Donegal man charged in Columbia hit & run

NATHAN WILLISON | LNP Staff Writer An East Donegal Township man is facing criminal charges after police say he struck a 13-year-old with his truck and fled the scene last month.  Derek Scott Mohr, 28, is charged with causing an accident involving death or injury without a license, failing to stop to render aid, driving at an unsafe speed and related charges.  Mohr had been driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado through Chestnut Street in Columbia around 8 p.m. March 20 when he struck a 13-year-old boy riding a motorized scooter and continued driving, according to charging documents filed by police.  When police arrived, they found the boy with a broken leg and a cut to his forehead. His scooter was lying nearby, its handlebars completely snapped off.  Another teenager who witnessed what happened described the truck to police and said that the driver made no attempt to stop after striking the boy.   GUEST COMMENTARY [Name withheld by request out of fear of retaliation] For two decades, Leo Lutz has occupied the mayor's office in Columbia, and his supporters are quick to credit him with every positive development in our borough, but leadership is a two-way street. If Mayor Lutz is going to accept praise for Columbia's successes, many of which, frankly, he had little direct involvement in, then he must also be held accountable for our failures. The facts paint a troubling picture. Despite the mayor's repeated assurances that our streets are safe, we've witnessed a disturbing rise in assaults, shootings, and vandalism. His promises have fallen by the wayside: the foot patrol we were promised never materialized, nor did the bike patrol that was supposed to increase our sense of security.
