Mayor Lutz interviewed potential Republican candidates at Hinkles tonight. The spy missed a great photo op to see great people coming together for the good.

Last night at Hinkles was right out of the Godfather. Part of the council met there to get the blessing from The Don. This is a bad look for them but this tone deaf and blind group does not care.

Ms. Geesey didn't send us a press release.

Why is Mayor Lutz interviewing? Is he choosing who will go along with all the spending and loans. I think the committee should do this.Maybe put them all on and let the people decide huh? We want new conservative people.

Mayor Lutz, his wife and son ARE 3 of the 4 committee people. I just can't see how this is allowed.

Lutz and family ARE the committee.

How did people come together? Interviews were not done as a group, were they? I think it's apparent that the commenter was one seated at the group that was ironically having dinner at the same time, so that they didn't miss out on who was interviewed. What a completely inappropriate location for candidate interviews.

That is not right those people can get on the ballot without being interviewed that is an obstruction there. If I were candidates I would do it on my own everyone has a chance to run never heard of this before. Just get your petition filled out notorized and take to the court house.

Jenna, you let those other committee members drag you down in the mud with them. You are not in good company, very sad for you, you should separate yourself ASAP.

The interviews were not to get on the ballot. The interviews were for party endorsement. Endorsement gives candidates the assistance of the committee to circulate petitions ans gives a candidaye access to funds for their campaign. Both parties do endorsement activities.

He also missed seeing a local developer, who is not on the committee, open the closed door, without knocking, in the middle of a candidate interview. Intimidation or just rude behavior?

In today’s world you don’t know what truth, half-truth or false news. After reviewing packet of information for the Columbia Boro monthly meeting and visiting the Lancaster County government (LANCASTER COUNTY PROTHONOTARY'S OFFICE) site, I am almost speechless. Council member Berntheizel is listed as having liens at the present time (one for past taxes) filed against 621 Chestnut St. in Columbia Boro.
I find it reprehensible that the Councilman would continue to actively participate on council and vice chair the finance committee. Exclusion on any financial matters before Council would be expected. Fellow Council members have to have thoughts on the shared information and yet no one raises concerns. I know State and Federal officials have similar situations but that doesn’t make it right. To have the unmitigated gall to continue is hard to believe and shows in my opinion, a total lack of respect for the office and the members of the community.
I understand situations in life at various times create hardships and tough choices are made. Stepping back until affairs are in order should have been considered and should be considered now.
This has nothing to do with the tax increase structure but has to do with common sense.

Seems he has no shame. This has been mentioned several times, how can he hold a public position for the citizens. And he speaks up more than the council President. No railings on his business but other people get cited for those type of things
