In Columbia, the partners see an opportunity to create apartments that would appeal to people working in either Lancaster or York counties, Myers said. Proximity to the Susquehanna River and other outdoor amenities, like hiking trails, could add to the units' appeal.
"We actually really like Columbia borough," Myers said. "We think there's a lot of value from a locational standpoint."

Once again is all 33 units going to pay taxes???
who is going to police it?
should be historic looking
Do you even know how the tax system works?
DO YOU! If so explain please.
I hope not just head tax!!
The owner of the property will pay taxes, Just like any property owner pays. The renters will not be paying the tax.
Yeah! Must be historic like that storage facility! Have to keep up with that beauty!
what happend to the one and a half parking spaces per unit rule when i wanted to sell my house and the buyer wanted to trun it into an apartment he was told no because he didn't have the parking 1 1/2 spaces now i see the brough is selling parking spaces for this prodject
The storage facility is not in the Historic District.
The tenants have have no reason to pay taxes on the property they rent. However, they do shop in this town and pay sales tax, so there is that.
Yes, that kills me too, I saw them rake a woman over the coals about needing one extra parking space. Now they are selling them!?? She could have saved money on her lawyer and simply bought the parking space. Why is it ok for one and not the other? Oh that's right, it's Columbia.
NO BUT THIS BUILLDING IS
So why compare one to the other?
Thats is whats killing this town!! To many rental units and not enough housing!! This town needs home owners not more rental units!!!
so is this new building going to look like it belongs in the historic district. and why's the brough letting anyone build appartments in the frist place i thought they said no more appartments would be approved about a year ago
how about the old chip factory ? why not make these people use that building. that makes more sence
