Partnership pumping $10.5M into Lancaster, Columbia properties

In Columbia, the partners see an opportunity to create apartments that would appeal to people working in either Lancaster or York counties, Myers said. Proximity to the Susquehanna River and other outdoor amenities, like hiking trails, could add to the units' appeal.
"We actually really like Columbia borough," Myers said. "We think there's a lot of value from a locational standpoint."

The owner of the property will pay taxes, Just like any property owner pays. The renters will not be paying the tax.

The storage facility is not in the Historic District.

The tenants have have no reason to pay taxes on the property they rent. However, they do shop in this town and pay sales tax, so there is that.

Yes, that kills me too, I saw them rake a woman over the coals about needing one extra parking space. Now they are selling them!?? She could have saved money on her lawyer and simply bought the parking space. Why is it ok for one and not the other? Oh that's right, it's Columbia.

So why compare one to the other?

Thats is whats killing this town!! To many rental units and not enough housing!! This town needs home owners not more rental units!!!
