"The power to tax is the power to destroy. ATTRIBUTION: This quotation comes from the words of DANIEL WEBSTER and those of JOHN MARSHALL in the Supreme Court case, McCulloch v. Maryland. Webster, in arguing the case, said: “An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy,” 17 U.S. 327 (1819).

Taxes here are continuing to destroy not only homeowners, but businesses as well.

Anyone with a computer can google email addresses for state representatives. Write to them and push for property tax elimination. Don't forget the political propaganda letter that ELANCO'S school board and administrative team gave out to parents and guardians in their district.

If Elanco saved us $ 300,000 with Teck and Super, why a tax increase? Did the union ever settle their contract? still getting the best Insurance and other benefits while others pay the price? Maybe the teachers and Administration may need to realize Columbia isn't a School District that can afford high paying jobs, $65,000 to $80,000 for 180, 6 Hr days, $ 3500 a month retirement needs to change.
