Reminder: When shoveling your driveway, clear snow away from fire hydrants

Clear a path from the hydrant into the street. Also, clear a margin of about three feet all around the hydrant, so firefighters have enough room to work.

I wish people who have these fire hydrants and also by all the storm sewers in/on their sidewalks or street gutter areas would please take care of them. If it was YOUR house on fire or flooding you'd have wished someone else took care of both. Shovel around fire hydrants and remove ALL DEBRIS clogging ALL storm sewers, every day of the year. If they are calling for storms or severe weather, make tchecking them part of your routine! thank you!
