“Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.”

“Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.”
That quote is attributed to Mark Twain but seems to be the lament of this seagull at Columbia River Park today. The weather continues to be fickle indeed, with temperatures expected to push 60 on Wednesday and Thursday - and then possible snow on Friday.

Thanks for always keeping us, the taxpayers inthe loop! We certainly do appreciate it!
On another note, not sure where to address this pet peeve.....but it's serious and exists everywhere in the Borough. People-if it's WINDY do NOT put recycling out with your weekly trash pickup UNLESS IT'S CLEARLY IN A CLEAR-SEE THRU BAG TIED LOOSELY SHUT! The trash everywhere is horrendous and I believe a large part of the plastioc bottles, soda cans, etc comes from people not thinking and placing these recycling bins out for the wind to carry them everywhere-all over town. Would any of the trash haulers have any suggestions??? I look out my window this morning and I could cry-there's plastic everywhere. That's bad enough, but I have NEVER seen these people PICK UP all this recycling and place it back in your bin at your house. Please can we all figure something out. Personally, if it's windy i DON"T put my recycling out. I wait until the next week! Thanks :)

Thank you for caring. Your suggestion is the best one that I can think of and we have had our share of high wind lately.

thanks, I agree! You always keep us updated as to whats going on inthe BOro and post awesome pictures! I agree with comment about recycling and would like to add: PUT TRASH IN A BAG, TIE IT & PUT IT IN TRASH CAN. The litter around here is beyond ugly......don't be lazy, get out your broom and shovel and sweep in front of your property and put in your trash!!!

yes people-put all your trash in bags first and tie it and then put it in trash cans. heres a suggestion-i used heavy string/rope and tied my lid to a handle (a little loose) that way it doesn't blow away in the high winds!!!! and everything looks so much nicer without all the stinkin trash blowing everywhere. thank you!
