Columbia School District budget still lacks specifics

Columbia School District officials say they are not able to share any specific numbers with the public on their preliminary final budget even though they plan to vote on it Thursday.
The state requires that all school districts pass their final budgets by June 30.

They are hiding how bad it really is. They showed the reserves ballance last year, & pulled about three quarters of that to ballance last years budget. I don't see how their going to do it. County reasessments are also coming up which means they will be losing more income because house prices in Cola have dropped a lot since the last asessment.
Add in the fact the greedy teachers want more & you have a hopeless case.
I don't understand why our board isn't propositioning the state for a consolidation, instead of waiting to file bankruptcy.

Transparency implies openness, communication, and accountability. Transparency is operating in such a way that it is easy for others to see what actions are performed. It has been defined simply as "the perceived quality of intentionally shared information from a sender".
