Axe, Benard S Jr. - (1) Count Indirect Criminal Contempt (Protection From Abuse Order) | Columbia Borough Police Department

On May 18, 2018 at approximately 10:18 pm the Columbia Borough Police Department arrested 34 year old Bernard S Axe Jr for a violation of a Protection from Abuse Order which was issued on the same date earlier in the day.  The Order evicted Axe from a residence in the 300 Blk of S Second Street where he lived with his girlfriend in Columbia Borough, Lancaster County, PA.  The Order also protected his girlfriend from any contact with Axe.  He was served the Protection Order earlier in the day by Columbia Borough Police.  His girlfriend called 911 and reported that Axe was there trying to speak with her.  He was located in the rear yard on the porch.  Axe possessed a substance which was suspected to be synthetic marijuana and a handmade smoking device.  The substance was collected and sent to the laboratory for analysis.  More charges are possible pending laboratory results.  Axe was sent to Lancaster County Central Arraignment awaiting arraignment.  He will be committed on a probation violation.  All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

I'm not passing judgement. I simply stated why people stay in abusive relationships. If you took that as judgement then you're guilty of one of those reasons people stay.

If my comment was at all offensive to anyone I'm sure it wouldn't have been approved.

East Donegal man charged in Columbia hit & run

NATHAN WILLISON | LNP Staff Writer An East Donegal Township man is facing criminal charges after police say he struck a 13-year-old with his truck and fled the scene last month.  Derek Scott Mohr, 28, is charged with causing an accident involving death or injury without a license, failing to stop to render aid, driving at an unsafe speed and related charges.  Mohr had been driving a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado through Chestnut Street in Columbia around 8 p.m. March 20 when he struck a 13-year-old boy riding a motorized scooter and continued driving, according to charging documents filed by police.  When police arrived, they found the boy with a broken leg and a cut to his forehead.   GUEST COMMENTARY [Name withheld by request out of fear of retaliation] For two decades, Leo Lutz has occupied the mayor's office in Columbia, and his supporters are quick to credit him with every positive development in our borough, but leadership is a two-way street. If Mayor Lutz is going to accept praise for Columbia's successes, many of which, frankly, he had little direct involvement in, then he must also be held accountable for our failures.
