Northwest River Trail Parking Reminder | Columbia Borough Police Department

With the weather getting better use of the Northwest River Trail is expected to get busier. Attached is a picture of the parking areas where people can park while using the Northwest River Trail. Traffic on the trail is expected to be heavy this weekend. Please use caution on the trail along Route 441 as there are some detour signs partially blocking the trail near Bridge Street. Be safe and enjoy the warm temperatures.

So you can't park at the river park to walk the trail?

If we didn't want people to park around the trail why did we put it there? AND WHATS WRONG WITH THE BOROUGH LOT AT THE BOTTOM OF LOCUT STREET??

Anonymous said...

Prob, the parking lot at the bottom of locust street, isnt where the trail starts?? Its prob safer for a family to not have to walk along 441 more then they have to, SAFETY?

Seems the Boro lot at the bottom of Locust St is CLEARLY marked on the map with a "P".

Maybe one should understand how to decipher a map before responding unintelligibly with all capital letters, thus looking like a fool.

Look at the map, that parking lot is marked as a parking area to use.....

You have to cross over railroad tracts and 441 from heritage dr.

it also has a knife and fork, but does it have food, after the borough wrote the spring clean up list everything should be questioned.

BUT will the parking enforcement ticket cars parked there? There is a charge to park there, better check with the girls at 308 to avoid a ticket, They love to ticket and might be behind a dumpster or behind a tree or something.

It also has parking (p) up between the bridges, is there a lot there? To cross the tracks there is tresspassing on rail road property, not to say how dangerous it is..

Finding the beginning of the trail could be hard ,but when you are on it just follow the spray painted wall and keep your kids looking down at the river so they don"t ask what certain words are!!!

Map was printed by the borough, did you really look at some of the things they wrote and published , and they should prof read and look at the things they (union) publish, if they were a private company people wood be fired for some of the lack of doing there jobs.

I'm not sure it is a "lot" under the bridges but it is paved and you can park there. Also, everyone knows that there is graffiti there. It is expensive to continually remove it so I guess it has to be an eyesore for a while. Sign of the times I guess. People with too much time on their hands and no respect for OPP .. other people's property.

you can NOT park in the long spots at River Park...they are for BOATS AND TRAILERS ONLY!!!! IT'S A $25.00 FINE AND IT IS PATROLLED.

No, the sign says trailer parking only. So if you have a RV or dump trailer, you can use it. According to the sign.
