We'd like to talk about weeds.
In view of all the discussion of the topic lately, we'd like to present Exhibits A and B below:
Somewhere...in there...is a mailbox.
There it is!
A relay mailbox at North 5th & Chestnut is safely shrouded among the billowing sumac. Although some folks don't consider sumac to be a weed, it's unsightly nonetheless and will quickly take over an area if not attended to - plus, some people are allergic.
Lately, weeds of all kinds have been taking over the town. If the trend persists, our theme song may very well become "Welcome to the Jungle."

It doesn't matter, does it?
My surrounding neighbors are so out of control we have every rodent imaginable running around. Not to mention fleas!!!
New Holland Borough sprays their weeds every year around all curbing. This saves the New Holland taxpayers from future decay and replacement of curbing and streets. A tank on the back of the new truck and a sprayer nozzle in the borough worker's hand would take a week to complete. Not hard!
How can code enforcement miss this?
It's everywhere in Columbia Boro
Homeowners use to take care of their properties now it slum loards they just want there money
one mans weed is another mans flower - it sure beats trash !
When will the Boro start enforcing their own Rules and Laws and start prosecuting the people for these infractions. They have a Code Enforcement Officer who does nothing but sits in his Office and reads the Local Newspaper when he should be out checking the Streets, the Alleys and peoples back yards for TRASH and HIGH WEEDS. PROSECUTE THE OFFENDERS NOW.
Columbia is inundated with both, it's not getting any better.
River Rats is what we are.
