Hundreds say good-bye to Mary Loreto

Cars line Union Street next to Saint Peters Catholic Church this morning.

Hundreds paid their last respects today to Mary Loreto, who passed away last Wednesday at the age of 91. A Mass of Christian Burial with five concelebrants was held at Saint Peter's Catholic Church this morning. Mrs. Loreto was buried at Saint Peters Catholic Cemetery on Old Chickies Hill Road.

Wish everything she had on her plate was cleaned up.
Alas Columbia loses another dedicated property owner.

What an incredible and remarkable woman!! Maybe they should name the alley beside her house...Mary Loreto Avenue. She helped thousands and thousands of those less fortunate than ourselves. It would be amazing if more people stepped up and did just a little bit of the same.

I suggest the Carriage Way across from the First Hospital. She fought to keep that green space and intact!
The Mayor and past Council should have acted on it. Maybe Mayor Lutz and President Murphy could pull it off now!

That was mentioned "green way" in one of the many studies done to "turn this town around".
