I hope you don't mean Columbia. This is what they said when the Turkey Hill Experience moved in. These things can lead to a vibrant town, but if we don't get rid of the high taxes businesses can't survive here.

There's not many residents left who aren't tenants of slumlords. When taxes are this high slumlords are all that buy the houses & all they do is try to get every dime of income out of the house without fixing it up.

By Columbia Spy -

Chris Vera [Columbia Spy file photo] The following information is excerpted from a December 6, 2025 LNP Watchdog article by LNP | LancasterOnline reporter Jade Campos. Still reeling from an abrupt firing from his role as head of the Columbia Market House in March, Chris Vera was surprised to get a letter in the mail from a Columbia Borough attorney two weeks later telling him he was banned indefinitely from borough property. The letter gave no reason for the ban. Nine months later, Vera, who has served as president of the Columbia Historic Preservation Society for more than a decade and has helped with the borough’s comprehensive plan, is still banned from borough property. He believes the ban includes borough parks, which is part of the reason he moved his annual Albatwitch Day festival, which celebrates the myth of a local cryptid, to Wrightsville. Vera said he’s not sure why the borough went to such lengths to keep him away from public spaces given his termination from the borough s...

His scooter was lying nearby, its handlebars completely snapped off.  Another teenager who witnessed what happened described the truck to police and said that the driver made no attempt to stop after striking the boy. Surveillance footage collected from the area shows the truck striking the b...

So far, the reason for his resignation has not been made public. Council will likely vote on the issue at its next meeting on September 22, 2026. Resignation letter In September 2025, as part of a planned succession, Brommer took on the role of interim borough manager while continuing to serve as police chief — a dual role he maintained through April 2026. During that transitional period, he earned a $118,000 police chief salary plus a $2,000 monthly stipend for his added manager duties, with guidance from part-time assistant borough manager Ron Youtz helping smooth the handoff. On May 1, 2026, Brommer made the transition official: he retired from the police force after 29 years of service and stepped into the role of full-...
