sorry it seems like it rains more 4th fridays than it does not :( it's a shame the Boro wouldn't ENCOURAGE LOCAL BUSINESSES WITH FREE METERS THE 4TH FRIDAY FOR SHOPPERS ONLY....NOT TENANTS OF LOCAL PROPERTIES.....now that my friend would make sense.

So how would that even be done? The shopkeepers could give out quarters for the meters. But the boro doesn't (and shouldn't) need to be involved.
Otherwise, you either have to pay the meters when you park or you don't. Doesn't really matter why you are parked. I mean, one person's quarters are as good as another's, right?.
Anyway, all the 1st Fridays in the world aren't going to change the fact downtown is still dead.

You are wrong, if patrons care about 50 cent meters they won't be spending money anyway
