Columbia council supports bill to allow local police to use radar guns

It's all about how to raise the fees (taxes). This is NOT a safety issue.

From the article:
----------

" 'It's another tool to try to slow down traffic in your small boroughs. Why shouldn't they have the same tools the state police have,' council member Mary Barninger said. 'This (argument) that police departments will use this to increase revenues is ridiculous.' "

----

Yeah right, tell me another story. And the $treet $weeper is for cleaning streets every week (at least), and not for giving out $10 tickets? And we need to increase meter prices again because there's no parking for the multitudes of stores in downtown Columbia?

But it's all ok - because it is "for the children". Excuse me while I vomit.

Yes, this is the same situation as the scales and van the police bought several years ago. The mayor said it would increase revenue. What a joke!
