Tuesday the 15th in Scenic Columbia

According to witnesses, several law enforcement vehicles, including the van sporting this logo, were stationed in the area of South 2nd Street, Bank Avenue, and Avenue J this morning at around 7 o'clock. Over a dozen law enforcement personnel were also on scene, including Columbia Borough police. Witnesses also say that several areas were blocked off.

Here's the van, in front of the police station this morning.

This logo also appears on the van.

********************************

There's that boat again, still on the Wrightsville end of the bridge.

Speaking of the bridge, what's up with the weeds?

The rehabilitation project isn't scheduled to start until next year.
So, do the weeds get to stay until then?
Or does some borough or township get to cite the other?
Or cite the state?

Oh well, at least we get to look at these bristly wildflowers.

There goes the skipper of the boat, heading under the bridge.

Here's the other end of the boat sticking out.

There it goes.

A reflection of the bridge, showing inspectors beneath

There's an inspector now.

Above it all

Heads up!

Here's a picture of a nice-looking canoe.

Strong political opinions are OK,
but, my goodness, such language
(censored to protect the innocent).

Nice neon at Level Up

There's even a motorcycle in the window there.
Columbia Borough didn't approve their liquor license.

MOOSE -with dumpster peeking over

Line painting at the Columbia Water Company.
Take a good look - you're paying for it.

Painting is still happening at the DAC.

Monday the 14th in Scenic Columbia

Some shots from around town today . . .

(Click/tap on photos to see larger, sharper images.)

Another mayfly sighting

There it is.
(Is this the start of the Walnut Street Improvement Project?)

Looks like this bird was feeling high.

Ready for the road - some road, somewhere

Doug's Tree Service was in Locust Street Park.

Here's how to keep your tools safe in Columbia
(although it might not be foolproof).

Somebody got the boot - and then some.

Yep, there's the boot.

And there's a note.

Down at Columbia River Park . . .

The boat's ready to go to inspect the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The same thing was done in 2019,
as Columbia Spy reported
HERE (scroll down).

In 2015, the same (or a similar) boat was used
to check on the progress of falcon nestlings under the bridge,
as Columbia Spy reported HERE.

There's the crew.

And there they go.

They were inspecting the Wrightsville end of the bridge today.

And after a long day, it was back to the park.

But as that was going on, this guy was inspecting another section of the bridge.

Near Commerce Street

He was taking photos and hammering on the bridge.

********************************

And finally - they're painting the DAC.

Yes they are.
