Shhh!

Columbia has many secrets - good and bad.

The lions(?) shown above are part of a restoration project at the entranceway to the Columbia School of Music, 401 Walnut Street. The work is being done by artist Stacia Hummel of Marietta. Columbia Spy reported on the project HERE.

Here's a "before" photo.

Part of the process is adding a marbling effect, as shown here.

Art shows are happening in the area this month. Columbia's student musicians will perform at the Columbia Market House on April 15.

A PennDOT crew gave a much-needed cleaning to the Veterans Memorial Bridge this past week . . .

More evidence that spring has sprung

He shall light the way.

The bike station at Columbia River Park was out of order earlier in the week.

Cardinals have been making their presence known around town, including the one shown here and below.

C.S. Davidson was present out at the old airfield this past week, so the innovation park project must be getting started. The project could potentially put the borough in debt for decades.

The company was also present on South 10th Street, near Manor.

And they were surveying at 700 Franklin Street, which the borough now owns.

Also at the airfield: a flock of turkeys. Where will they go when the area is paved over and "developed"? Maybe to the borough farm if the sale goes through.

LASA was making marks on borough streets . . .

Notices were placed on the first block of South 2nd - an indication of more roadwork?

UGI also marked several blocks of Locust Street Saturday morning.

And a portion of Lancaster Avenue at North 5th and Chestnut was recently marked, and UGI notices were placed there. More roadwork might be on the way.

Borough residents are already tired of the seemingly endless roadwork on Lancaster Avenue. Even this worker seems tired of it.

There's something you don't see every day - a horse trailer on Locust Street.

Trashed!
That's what happens when you tie one on.

Vicious Circle on Locust

This pole in the 500 block of Avenue F looks worse by the day.

You can usually tell if a cat is "fixed" by checking to see if the left ear is clipped, as can be seen here.

The water company project continues.

There's a new clothing shop at 207 Locust Street, the site of a former laundromat.

The silent masked mannequin at the beginning of this post was also stationed here earlier in the week.

Feline under glass

This symbol on North 3rd Street is called the "Eye of Providence," which has several interpretations and is believed by some to represent the Illuminati. A similar Eye of Providence has been used by the Masons (also known as Freemasons).

Speaking of Masons, they were in town this weekend.

They held a gathering on Saturday at the National Watch & Clock Museum, 514 Polar Street. Shown above is another of their symbols, one that's more commonly used.

Keystone Artisan Werks on Bridge Street

And these pansies are right around the corner.

It's not beautiful, but it'll get you from point A to point B.

He served his country and his community.

Cafe 301 - seen on Lancaster Avenue

Turkey monitor?
Maybe it could be used for the airfield turkeys.

Roadwork on River Road, near the entrance to the Turkey Hill Dairy

One of two of the original Veterans Memorial Bridge lights on Letort Road

That's a clever way to haul your stuff.

There are many big egos in this town, but ego is not the same as intelligence.

This Easter Bunny at Fragments of the Past looks high as a kite.
What's in those eggs anyway?

The Washington Boro skeletons are reminding us that Easter Sunday is April 9.

So hang in there 'til next week!
