Seriously. We MUST remove these overspenders! $347,000.00 for street scape lighting??? $6,000.00 for LED Christmas lights???? $10,000.00 for Urban Land Institute for more bs! create a Comptroller position?????? Why????? People if you care that this council seems to ONLY want to spend our hardworking money on all this craziness...you should attend the Boro Council meeting this Monday Sept 10 at 7 pm. Norm, I hope you'll attend!

I thought Rebecca was gonna look after us with all the spending don't look like it. So much unnecessary stuff on there. Our main street is just fine. We just need more stores. I hope we get a new conservative council instead of puppets hardly anyone ever disagrees.

revamp Columbia NOT THE PET PRODJECT MONEY PIT (RIVER PARK) These people have to go, they are making things so the common citizen can't afford to live here thus rental houses, these people and some of the past council members, don't have common sense, and people hired from out of town don't understand or CARE about the long range of Columbia, this can be a nice little town again but NOT under this management, people coming to the trail or money pit don't come up into town or frankly don't give a dam about the town, they come enjoy the free pit or trail and leave , AT THE TAX PAYERS EXPENCE! Nice right ,Thank you COUNCIL , youall should step down and stop spending tax payers money like there is no tommorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!

New pretty street lights won't attract new businesses, lowering and/or eliminating taxes would. What are new lights gonna do, shine light on a dead downtown?

Get ready for more spending! Coming soon: River Park "Phase III" at a cost of 12-16 million dollars. I do not know how much is grant money and how much will be taxpayer dollars. Don't be fooled by the word "Grant" because most of the time it's a matching grant, so taxpayers must also open their wallets. All I know is there's a whole lot of money going into this park. I agree, it is a great place for out-of-town people to visit, courtesy of Columbia residents, but it will never lower our taxes in our lifetime. If it raises our property value, that's not necessarily going to benefit us, unless we sell. It might even change the assessment potentially raising taxes.

The bad part is when you look at night it is dark, not even bright enough to pick out faces.

im surprised nobody has developed the old railroad station or the old mattress place on front street to capture some of that out of town money.
