It's called the Hill campus because the middle school is split between two locations. When an educational entity has more than one location then each become designated as a campus. Since the 5th and 6th grade are at Taylor it is referred to as the Taylor campus of the middle school. Since the 7th and 8th are part of the building that is also the high school it is referred to as the Hill campus so that the middle school is delineated from the high school.

In Columbia; that's not protocol state-wide or even county-wide.

Hempfield, for instance, identifies its separate sites as schools. As does Donegal and and Eastern.

is anyone just thankful the person was caught.

Much simpler when I went to school...K-6 was called elementary, 7-8 was junior high, 9-12 high school. No trendy words needed. It was school grounds, now it's a campus!

the sign says high school. maybe they should worry about education and keeping the kids in line. Some of these kids don't respect any of the management or teachers lets start there doc.

yes we are glad they were caught, now hold them accountable or the next kid with a bad idea won't think twice.

The buildings and grounds of a college, university, or school are commonly referred to as a campus.

An excellent example is McCaskey High School in the School District of Lancaster. The two buildings are referred to as campuses. This fits the earlier description I gave above.
