unfortunately this has been going on for months. maybe it's time to call in reinforcements. more police, or if possible fire police or constables, or sherriff's etc....to patrol. be on the lookout. 2 officers per shift will NEVER catch them...they are kept tooooo busy with way too many other calls columbia police chief should have been putting this info out there for all residents for weeks and weeks. tell them not only to lock all doors and windows. but to turn on outside lights front and back of properties fEVERY NIGHT or now. also this is important CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY. if you see suspicious person(s) walking, running, looking suspicious, hanging around, etc call 911 (quicker response time!) or in a car can you read the license plate ? if you saw anyone can you give a description. we need to catch these low lifes NOW. it's beginning to take a toll on all residents. remember to look out for ALL your neighbors-especially the elderly or people who live alone.

thanks. some good points. yes it's time to check up and keep an eye out for our neighbors, especially those who live alone and the elderly. talk to them. ask them if they have their windows and doors locked. put the word out there for everyone!
