What I Saw - Saturday, June 2, 2012 - Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign

On Saturday, I took a walk around town, armed only with a smartphone and a cheap point & shoot.
(To see larger pics . . . well, you know what to do.)
Still on display

New swimming pool next to Burning Bridge Antiques
(Actually, leftover rainwater from the recent storm)

Really?  What year?

Uh . . . ?

Punctuation please!
And while you're at it, correct the spelling.

One way

A North Vietnamese garage?

Weed refuge

Detritus from the recent storm, including
the requisite tire

Necessary equipment

Deadbeat renters at Lazy K

Glass shards - remains of a favorite Columbia tradition

Fancy door at 170 Locust Street

Lots of notices

Fallen sign

We might have found Paul McCartney's shoes.
(He wasn't wearing them on the Abbey Road cover.)

Upcoming

This too

Display it with pride.

Door knocker

Business signs

Apostrophe abuse

No thanks, I think I'll walk.

These things used to be red instead of pink.

Coming soon

He's in the lower right.

Take that, society!

Bright and cheerful

Is that furniture a relative of Chairry from Pee Wee's Playhouse?

Weird, I saw a pair of white sneakers abandoned.
What's this another new fashion statement? It might
be better than the low pants fad.

Anything would be better than the low pants thing. I don't know if the shoe phenomenon is a new fad or not. I'm still trying to figure out why pairs of shoes are hanging from electrical wires at different locations around town. I was told it was drug-related, but I don't know for sure.

Yes, this would be her cousin "Couchy," of course.

Love the fancy door at 170 Locust St - NOT !!! It's ugly and in the Historic District.....also gotta love the breeding grounds for West NIle virus carrying mosquitos at David Doolittles across from Stovers. Wow.... 2 serious issues that have been ongoing for HOW LONG ?????????

Someone really should replace the "door" with a real one.
I wonder how long that hole in the ground is going to remain there.

agreed....how many businesses have opened downtown in the past month and then look at that door and swimming pool. unbelieveable.
