DEP investigating fish kill in Susquehanna River south of Brunner Island

YORK COUNTY, Pa. – The Pa Department of Environmental Protection is trying to figure out what killed the fish found floating in the Susquehanna River just south of Brunner Island Steam Electric Station.

Night lights - Out of town

Over the river and through the woods on the way to grandmother's house, we came upon these spectacular night lights:















Vehicle accident at the bridge - one totaled

A two-vehicle accident occurred Thursday shortly before 3 p.m. near the entrance to the Veterans Memorial Bridge. According to witnesses, the driver of a Nissan Murano traveling south on North Second Street failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Chevy Silverado heading west on Route 462. Both vehicles sustained front end damage, and an air bag deployed in the Nissan. The Nissan driver told Columbia Spy that his vehicle was worth about $7,000. He believed it to be totaled. The intersection was closed for over an hour as personnel investigated.

Vandal punctures tires on 20 vehicles in Columbia in 2nd crime spree this week

An "edged object" was used to slash about 35 tires, causing $3,000 to $4,000 damage, to vehicles in the Wagon Werks Apartments parking lot in the 900 block of Plane Street, borough Detective Matt Leddy said. No other damage was reported in the 10 p.m. incident.
