The 200 block of Locust is now open. Workers have removed barricades.

Yesterday, workers took down the brick facade at 208-210 Locust Street and today installed plywood in preparation for installation of a new facade.

Schools rely on local funds as they await state budget


Public school districts have two principal sources of revenue: their state subsidy and local funding. The latter comes primarily from property taxes.
In Lancaster County, the state share of district funding ranges from a low of about 17 percent for Manheim Township School District to 45 percent for SDL and 48 percent for Columbia Borough School District, the two highest.

Town reacts to a fight that started over the Confederate Flag

It's down!

Well, mostly anyway.  Workers toiled all day today removing the facade at 208-210 Locust, brick by brick. Only side bricks remain.  A foreman on the scene said the project could last into Saturday, although today's endeavor moved along faster than expected.
