A reminder to our constables

I would like to remind our local constables of their duties and the limitations thereof.  This information is summarized HERE.

I would also like to remind our constables that in their limited capacity as law enforcement officers, they have the duty to learn the law and do not have the right to harass citizens.

Traffic lined up on 462

Westbound traffic was lined up on Route 462 for hours after the accident on Route 30.  Vehicles were diverted onto 462 at the Prospect Road exit.

Why is it raining?

Why is it raining? The WGAL weathermen said it would be sunny and unseasonably warm this week. Their weather forecast should include a disclaimer that says "For entertainment purposes only. Not to be taken seriously."

Recently overheard at a local grocery store

I overheard the following fragment of conversation at the next checkout line over as I was paying for groceries:

"I'm supposed to build a detector to detect cosmic rays from the Big Bang. I don't know how I'm going to do it. My  professor was at MIT and is studying the particle structure of dark matter."

Columbia Lore - Stories I've been told but can't quite verify

One anecdote says that a former councilman's brand new dentures reside within this brick wall.  

Another story says that a Columbia resident, tired of the drug dealing in Columbia Park, beat up a dealer with an aluminum baseball bat several years ago.  The drug dealer never came back.

According to another anecdote, there are bullet holes in the north and south faces of the town clock, resulting from someone shooting from an apartment across the street.
