I guess they factored in the short life left on the plant when looking at the payback. In a few years LASA will be directing the waste to their Charlestown Rd plant.
That's right it was grant money which comes from the money tree.

I dont understand it!! Why should tax money pay for something LASA should pay for!!! They bought the plant now we have to pay, KICKBACKS are in here i can see that!!!

This needs to be looked into. Something wrong here!

Read what the grant is for and the news article. This is to possibly make use of the facility once the LASA pipeline is built and the plant no longer treating sewage. The new project is not a done deal, but looking to future use of the site. Forward thinking is a good thing.

Thanks to the above commenter for logical thinking. LASA and the sewer deal has NOTHING to do with this. This is a completely separate project from the LASA proposal.

LASA deffinitely has nothing to do with this because they never wanted that outdated plant. There are town leaders who want to keep that plant open to treat private haulers after LASA finishes the pipeline & sends Cola residents waste to Washington Boro.
These certain few seem to think they can make a profit operating that plant to treat private haulers waste. We as a town have no confidence in our towns leaders to make a sucessful project.
I say once LASA takes over our sewer treatment, tear down that money pit & make it a towns river front park or sell it for TRUE market value river front real estate.

No money should go into that plant! Tax or loan pay back! LASA wants it they can pay for it!!

Why would they make it green and clean, when they are going to flatten it in a few years?? What a waste of MONEY!!!!!!

I agree, why waste the money when its going to be torn down. Come on people stop wasting tax money!
