Yes, let there be some.
These three street lights on the first block of North Third Street (near Burning Bridge Antiques) have been out for several weeks. This issue was first brought to the attention of council at its December 8 meeting, during citizen comments. At the December 22 Meeting of the Whole, Acting Borough Manager Ron Miller said there had been a "hiccup" as lights were being strung, which had knocked out some street lights. Are these the ones? This section of the block is very dark at night, with the only light available coming from businesses and passing vehicles.

this is a serious safety concern. i drove over this street over the weekend...it's pitch black. very very unsafe for all. i really don't like any of these new street lights....they are too low and don't give off enough light. the whole downtown is TOO DARK. i can't believe ALL the business owners don't put exterior lights in front of their businesses and let them on all night..use LED light bulbs...much cheaper to run! not trying to be a complainer but it's very unsafe. too dark.
you know i have to agree! the new lights downtown LOOK beautiful...but they are not practical. we have many many people who wonder the streets 24/7, these lights do not put out enough light to make anyone feel safe or that they can actually see what's going on. maybe is there some kind of reflectors or different bulbs to use?? downtown-the 200, 300, 400 blocks of Locust St, and 1st block of North 3rd & South 3rd St are WAY TOO dark 24/7/365....we have so many elderly and out of town people at all the antique shops who are NOT familiar with our boro anyway. Maybe someone could look into this. maybe the business owners will use or add exterior lights to their buildings to make it safer....ESPECIALLY this time of year. thank you.
