What's up at Laurel Hill?

Several brass vases are missing at Laurel Hill Cemetery.  Is it still due to last month's debacle or are they being stolen by persons unknown?

A few years ago, the brass vase on my grandparents marker also went missing. I did not know if it was damaged by lawn mowers or if it was stolen. I notified laurel hill and was told that I would have to replace it myself or check with my homeowners insurance policy. At any rate we already paid for the marker and now we have to pay again. This was expensive to replace and how often will it go missing. Obviously there is no easy way to catch vandals, especially in a remote area at night. It's just totally sad that anyone would stoop so low. I guess a granite grave stone with a built in vase is one answer. Or simple markers with no vase made of non-metal materials. What's the world come to when the Cemetary has to be vandal and burglar proof? What responsibility do the recycle facilities play in receiving the vases? It's stolen property.
