Columbia couple was crossing the street with their granddaughter when fatally hit: officials | Local News | lancasteronline.com
Eric Lutz, 74, and his wife Donna, 71, of Columbia, were crossing the road at the intersection of Chestnut Street and N Third Street with their granddaughter when they were struck by a Dodge Ram pickup, according to information released by the coroner’s office and Columbia police.
The Lutzes were taken to Lancaster General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, the coroner’s office said. Columbia police said their granddaughter, who is a juvenile, was flown to another hospital on Sunday for treatment. Additional information on her condition was unavailable Monday.
The Lutzes died from multiple traumatic injuries, according to an autopsy conducted Monday morning by the coroner’s office. The manner of death has been ruled accidental.
Columbia police say their investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and no additional information will be released at this time.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to investigators to contact the Columbia Borough Police at 717-684-7735.

Besides some flooded basements, there weren't many effects Saturday from Friday's downpour. There was some mist over a small part of Wrightsville.
But the river level didn't appear to have moved.

Dozens of red and black balloons drifted over Columbia Saturday evening as the friends of family of Anthony Stoy-Velazquez gathered to remember the 26-year-old one month after his death.
In the month since his death on July 8, Stoy-Velazquez family have maintained a memorial to him on the corner of North Third Street and Linden Street, covering the corner with candles, photos and messages to keep his name and memory alive.

PRELIMINARY: Multiple pedestrians have been reported struck by a pickup truck at the intersection on 3rd and Chestnut Streets. The truck stayed at the scene. The intersection is currently closed.
