First orders are placed in long-awaited Veterans Banner Project

Columbia veteran Bob Smith is pleased to report that the first order for 35 Hometown Hero banners has been placed. Another order for 50 more has been accepted by the volunteer committee handling the project.

Smith said it's difficult to give an exact date when residents can expect to see the banners gracing borough streets, but the hope is that they can be installed within the next several weeks.

Updates will be provided as they become available.

Orders for banners may be placed by completing an application, which will be available at the Columbia VFW Post 2435, 401 Manor St., as well as at local fraternal organizations and a few businesses. Applications may also be found by searching for "Columbia Hometown Heroes" on Facebook, emailing ColumbiaHometownHeroes@gmail.com or calling 717-805-1537.
