Fall Fest on Saturday at St. John's Herr Estate

"Movie Under the Stars" Update!

Sounds like a lot of people are looking forward to coming to the movies at the River Park on Saturday, September 26th at sunset! So, in addition to having a fun time under the stars, let's support Columbia Food Bank with donations of canned goods, peanut butter, etc. With the cold weather coming they need to stock up.
See you at the movies!
Thank you!

"Movie Under the Stars” Set For Columbia River Park

On Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 7:15 PM, on the lawn at the River Park, the Big Screen is coming to Columbia! Come enjoy “The NeverEnding Story,” shown on a crowd-sized movie screen, with the the Veterans Memorial Bridge and the rapidly setting sun as a backdrop. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, kids and neighbors. The movie presentation, “The NeverEnding Story” (PG) is a 1984 fantasy classic about a boy, Bastian Balthazar Bux who, while running away from the school roughnecks, ducks into an antique book store where he finds a book called The NeverEnding Story. He takes the book and hides in his school's attic, where he begins to read. What happens next is amazing!
We all miss the drive-in and this is as close as we’ll get for now. We anticipate that this will be the first of many “Movies Under the Stars” events in Columbia.

The rain date is Sunday, September 27th at sunset.

Thanks to Columbia Borough Parks and Recreation and Susquehanna Center for the Creative Arts for sponsoring this event.

We really appreciate the community support!!

Wait, he said WHAT?!!!

According to Columbia news, views & reviews, the mayor said this at Monday night's council meeting:

Well, that's ugly - not to mention irresponsible - and clearly not the impression of Columbia we want to convey.

Care to retract that, Mr. Mayor?
