Sorry this is absolutely, positively ridiculous. Columbia can NOT afford all these top administrators and their salaries. And we do not need them, for gosh sakes we have the least amount of students in all of the county. I thought I'd NEVER hear myself say this-BUT the time has come.....no more excuses. Columbia MUST combine with another school district, wheather they want to or not-or let it up to the state (not a good choice). The Columbia taxpaying homeowners can NOT afford this. I have NO idea what this school board thinks believes or even sees and knows in this town. We are poor. Our taxes are next ONLY to the city. We have MANY rental properties in this town and NOT enough homeowners paying taxes. We are landlocked. We can NOT continue. We are losing our homes EVERY day. Don't any of you read the papers or listen to the news. Columbia is going down. Because NO ONE will open their eyes. If you do anything at all...create a TAX FOR ALL RENTERS FROM 18 YRS OF AGE TO 60 YRS OF AGE AND TAX THEM FOR MOVING HERE FROM ELSEWHERE AND ENROLLING THEIR 2, 4 6 OR EVEN MORE CHILDREN IN OUR SCHOOLS AND WE (taxpaying homeowners and the elderly) MUST PAY. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. I just can not fathom WHAT YOU CAN"T UNDERSTAND. There is no money. There are hundreds and hundreds of rentals that bring this town down. WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR ALL THESE TRANSIENTS TO MOVE HERE AND EDUCATE THIER CHILDREN. HELLO - IS ANYONE HOME???
