New playground equipment being installed at Rotary Park

Columbia Borough Councillor Jim Smith, whose term is over at the end of this year, pushed to have this equipment purchased and installed.

Please join us for our Annual Holiday Sale! Many Fine Art and Fine Craft items are offered at 10-25% off retail. Put your name in for one of our Art Door Prizes on December 13, 1-7 p.m. Prizes will be drawn at the end of the day. We have a fine selection of drawings, ceramics (pottery), fiber, glass, paintings, prints, Sculpture and mixed media work! 

The Door Prizes have been gifted by the following artists and Include: a glass bowl by Jeremy Friedly; an original print by Milt Friedly; an original painting by Carol Galligan, an original mixed media work by Claire Giblin; a ceramic mug by Maureen Joyce; a ceramic bowl by Robert Troxell and a "Celadon Octopus"  ceramic bowl. The door prizes are valued at over $500.

Coaches needed at Our Lady of the Angels


Our Lady of the Angels school has a need for assistant coaches for the upcoming Softball and Baseball season.  Needed are adults of all ages and older teens to help motivate, organize schedules, teach the children and become a positive role model for our community's youth.   Can work with any schedule or level of involvement.

Following a ribbon-cutting this morning, Advance Auto Parts at the Columbia Plaza opened its doors to the public. The grand opening was sponsored by the Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Back to the drawing board


Down at Front and Walnut tonight, the plastic was back over the traffic lights.

Which means that, in terms of the Route 441 bypass opening, the operation was not a success so far.
