COLUMBIA SPY

At River Park . . .  Someone's going to be missing these. (They were still there as of 6 p.m. today.)  Why use one space when you can take three? After all, no one else is using them.  Maybe the driver didn't see this sign. Or this one.   Nothing like going out through the "in" lane.

This morning, I received this photo, which has apparently been making the cellphone rounds. It shows the aftermath of a vehicle (or vehicles) that crashed into the store adjoining the Turkey Hill Experience today. (Photographer unknown at this point)

This is one of several patriotic fanfares written during World War II. I remember reading an interview with Aaron Copland in which he noted that other composers were writing fanfares to honor generals and admirals, but he wrote this for the ordinary soldiers, since they were the ones doing the actual fighting.

On Saturday, I took a walk around town, armed only with a smartphone and a cheap point & shoot. (To see larger pics . . . well, you know what to do.) Borough workers installed the docks at River Park . . . (Coincidentally, I recently received a comment regarding the docks, under the May 9 post  HERE. ) I also saw this honeybee at the park.   They seem to be making a comeback.
