Rivertown Pride Center shuts down in Columbia | Local News | lancasteronline.com

A Reading-based LGBTQ organization serving Lancaster County has closed its satellite location in Columbia.

Organizational changes and lack of funding lead to the closure of Columbia Rivertown Pride Center, which had been operated by the LGBT Center of Greater Reading. Located at 324 Walnut St., the Columbia center closed Thursday.

The center, which opened in the summer 2023, provided a welcoming space for youth and adults, especially those who identify as LGBTQ+, as well as those who question their identity. The center offered space for students to do homework, relax, play games, spend time with and meet new friends. It also provided basic hygiene supplies, a small food pantry and clothing, according to its website.
