High winds break window, send bins sailing

High winds blew a large window pane from its frame at this building at Third and Locust this afternoon. The pane shattered on the street, sending shards over a wide area of Locust near the intersection. Fortunately, there were no reports of pedestrian injuries.

 Quick-thinking citizens leapt into action to clear the glass from the street and sidewalk.

 Soon, others pitched in to help clean up the shards.

 The street sweeper was called out to clear the remaining glass.

Donation to American Cancer Society | Columbia Borough Police Department

A check for $1,200.00 was presented to the American Cancer Society today by Ofc. Austin Miller and Ofc. Amy Kuhrmann. Ofc. Miller has been selling pink Columbia Police patches as a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society.

Kleen-Rite releases video of top 10 Little Tree scents


COLUMBIA, Pa. — Kleen-Rite Corp. has released a new video which breaks down the top-selling Little Tree scents of the year, according to a press release.

The company stated in the release that it receives calls every day from carwash owners, convenience stores and retail shops asking which scents sell the most.

The video titled, "Chelsea Knows: Best Selling Little Tree Air Freshner List," is available on Kleen-Rite's YouTube Channel, KleenRiteCorporation.

Columbia School District drops membership in School Boards Association

The Columbia school board voted to cease its membership with the Pennsylvania School Boards Association at its Thursday, March 17, meeting.
