Yard waste pickup starts today

What I saw recently

Antique light fixture in Avenue I

Sidewalk worship service on Walnut Street

Let's hope we get some good ones soon.

Replacing a utility pole near Manor School

 Classic car on Manor

 Brucekie's dress code.
This should become a borough ordinance.

The former Vigilant Fire Company, now the Amvets

Apparently, the ghosts of history still reside there.

 Alley(way) cat

Stirrin' up dust at the Columbia Water Company

Whatever this is at Tollbooth Antiques

Back to that utility pole project

Two more original bridge light fixtures spotted, this time in York County on Lucky Lane . . .

Speaking of the bridge, here's a view from Mount Pisgah.

Constables Come to Columbia

Constable Robert J. Hetter and Taser the Bloodhound of River Valley K-9 Rescue Services patrolled Avenue H for contraband on Sunday morning.

This morning, two Pennsylvania State Constables watched and waited . . .

as this one presented papers . . .

and asked questions.

Easter Egret

This snowy egret was fishing for minnows in the Shawnee Creek on Easter morning . . .

Cops will watch Craiglist deals in hopes of cutting crime

Columbia police went so far as to post a Facebook message to residents, urging them to do in-person Craigslist business at their station.
"The transaction can take place in our lobby," Brommer said. "They don't need to bring the merchandise inside."

Columbia's Jerome Ellis recalled as one of the county's greatest athletes

When Jerome Ellis died of cancer earlier this year at age 66, he had long since left his athletic career behind.
But his tremendous accomplishments on the track, the basketball court and the football field at Columbia High School in the mid-1960s still live vividly in the minds of those who remember him.

What I saw recently

A batmobile speeding out of frame

 At the trail services building

 Buggy

Skating - in defiance of the edicts!

 This one

and this one (?)

 Complaint on Ironville Pike

 Heading back to the station

 Another unattended circular saw

 Soggy phone books

 Time for a bath

 In a private puddle

 All alone

 Well, that didn't pan out!

 Police

 and citizenry

 Lunar eclipse

 Patient passenger

 Stuck in time

 Sounding off

 Bypass construction

So why not convert this abandoned lot at 2nd & Bridge for parking?
