Not meaning to hijack a thread but I came across a new restaurant last night. I saw Mikes Diner in the building with the Turkey Hill Experience and decided to check it out. I was very pleased! The food was good, the service was good and the place is pleasant and clean. Most of all, the prices are very reasonable. The menu is your basic restaurant fare. If you are looking for something exotic , this ain’t the place. If you are looking for good food at a good price, I suggest you try it.
This diner is neat. The food is good and they even have home made chicken pot pie on Tues and pork and saurkraut and all the good old fashioned food that we like. I have been there quite a few times now and always had good food and friendly service- the thing to see here however is the pictures on the wall over the counter- if you have lived in town here for a while you will recognize some sights that havent been seen since the 60's and 70's- like the Jade Tiki Inn where Sahd's Salvage is now; and the old A&W Root Beer Stand across from Grinnell; and the old Dairy Queen where you walked up to the outside window. Oh and Grants and Food Fair out where Musser's Market is now . The list goes on and on. The original Cycle Den is here from right after they took the Horn Chevrolet lot and more. It is neat. I dont know if they had these pictures up when they were at the Lancaster Ave address cause i didnt go in there then! I am glad to see something else open here at this end of town and I hope that they are successful.

Thanks, I've been meaning to check it out.
I couldn't find the sign on Purples Lane that an anonymous commenter mentioned.
Mike's Diner is the old shiny diner that was at 14th and Lancaster Ave. At least that is what I was told.
I'm glad they're still making a go of it.

Sounds great. I'll definitely check it out.
I wasn't aware of it, but will now check it out thanks to your posting of this.
