Columbia Borough school board proposes final budget and tax resolutions | Community News | lancasteronline.com

When: Columbia school board committee meeting, June 4.

What happened: The finance committee proposed a final budget of $32.4 million for the 2024-25 academic year, including a total estimated $31.9 million in revenue. In addition, the committee proposed its annual tax levy resolution, which would include a real estate tax of 26.46 mills. This does not include a property tax increase for residents.

How to calculate your tax: One mill is equal to $1 in property tax for every $1,000 of assessed value. To calculate your tax burden, multiply the millage rate by the number of thousands of the assessed value of your property. For example, a homeowner with a property assessed at $100,000 would pay $2,646 annually.

About Town - June 16, 2024

 This week's photos of Columbia

(Click/tap on photos to see larger, sharper images.)

Who is Columbia's Superman?

Maxfield Parrish-esque clouds

The clouds on the left look as though they're on fire.

This Chinook flew over the other day.

But why are those guys hanging out the back, with feet dangling - at the open ramp door?

And who's that guy looking out the side window?

Yes, they're back.

Thunder on the River happened yesterday, but earlier in the week, this impromptu mini car show happened at the National Watch & Clock Museum when these two vintage cars showed up.
