Although I only had my point 'n' shoot camera with me at the time, I was lucky enough to get these shots of this bird at River Park on Tuesday afternoon. I'm not sure of the species. It might be a sharp shinned hawk . . .

Clearly an alligator in disguise. It's dangerous down by the river. Please be careful.

could it be a Cooper's Hawk?
Possibly
These are really good shots for a point and shoot
Thanks. I was able to get fairly close.
Maybe a Goshawk, marked like one? How big, sharp shinned are 10 - 14" Goshawk r bigger but usually more souther this time of the year.
The head resembles that of a goshawk, as do the markings, so it could be one. I estimate it at about 14".
