Borough streets mostly passable in Columbia, but snow cleanup to continue for days

Columbia
The streets were all passable, borough manager Greg Sahd said late Monday morning, but conditions were not good on some side streets and alleys.
He said the borough was working to clear snow from parking lots, especially the schools, so that residents could move vehicles there while crews return to more fully plow snow from residential blocks.
"Patience — that's the word that I'm emphasizing," Sahd said, adding that the borough's public works director measured the snowfall at more than 30 inches in Columbia.
"It's just unprecedented, the amount of snow we received, and we're doing our best to diligently and expeditiously clear it up."

Rendering assistance

This ambulance was enroute to Columbia when it became stuck at Harrisburg Pike and Route 30 West during Saturday's snowstorm. Phil Shirk and James Barnhart (both of Columbia) were able to provide assistance, enabling the driver to proceed to the destination.  Thanks guys!

They really must have needed a shopping cart
