'Home of the Shifter' closes in Columbia; Rose’s Deli & More ends 9-year run | What's in store | lancasteronline.com

A Columbia deli that featured the borough's traditional "shifter sandwich" closed permanently in late November.

Rose's Deli & More, which operated at 13 N. Fourth St., had its last day Nov. 30.

"It definitely has been a great ride and I'm so thankful for everyone who has helped my dream come true," owner Rose Weaver wrote in a Facebook post announcing the closure.

Weaver wrote that she was closing "due to some things I can't talk about here on Facebook." She did not respond to a message seeking more information about the deli's history and the reasons for the closure.

Rose's Deli began in 2014 as a stand at the Columbia Market House and then operated for a time at 438 Locust St. before moving to Fourth Street in 2016.
