Left to right: Becky Murphy, Don Murphy, Pete Ross, Jodie Reinhart, Kyra Schirk (dentist), Tiffany Keim (program coordinator), Tom Regan (cutting ribbon - vice chair of board), Philip K. Goropoulos (president CHI St. Joseph Children's Health)

The CHI St. Joseph Children's Health Dental Center was officially opened at a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house Thursday afternoon. The center, at 401 Locust Street, offers six child-friendly chairs and will provide high quality, affordable dental care for local children.  No insurance is required for service, but CHIP, Medicaid and private insurance are accepted. The St. Joseph Access Plan is available to dental center patients and provides uninsured families with generous discounts on dental care based on household income. Don and Becky Murphy of Cimarron Investments are providing space for the center.

To schedule an appointment or to learn more about the center, call 1-844-836-8871, or visit CHIDentalCenter.org.

  3. Your paying for it anyhow! Apparently it does affect you or you could care less.
It's an eyesore and a danger, not to mention how it's affected the downtown Historic District and the neighboring business.

    1. "affected the downtown Historic District and neighboring business"? That's a good one. Makes them look a little more crappy and empty than usual?

    2. And which downtown businesses do you Negative Nellies Support??

    3. None. That's what the internet is for. Downtowns are dead. The faster we realize that, the faster we can get on with life.

    4. Then stay in your bubble live your Internet life.
Some people still enjoy interacting with other humans.
That may be considered a LIFE.

    5. You do realize there is life beyond columbia, don't you? Downtowns are dead and aren't coming back without a massive shift in culture and society.

    6. Do you realize that any town needs to support THEIR OWN??
As far as your sarcastic remark about a life outside of Columbia,,,
I know better than most, as I b type I'm in Lebanon promoting what's not anyone's business yet.
This weekend I will once again volunteer my time, talents and supplies to A Marietta Organization for WOMEN'S DAY.
What is it you do anonymous?

    7. oooh.. Marietta and Lebanon. I was out near Philly today. Have you beat by a few miles.

Best thing Lebanon ever did recently was tear down part of their downtown for the Rt. 72 bridges. At least it's a start.

    8. It appears anonymous is getting beat by Bob.
My suggestion to anonymous is MOVE

    9. Beat? Sorry, old chap, I don't think Bob has won much of anything. If you want to be like him and pretend that a little window dressing is going to make downtown Columbia be successful again (despite every other town thinking the same thing), then go for it. Most people in this town know better and aren't going to be fooled by crap like fake trolleys.

Problems are so much larger than that.

    11. ...so says the man arguing with people on a little comment section. I notice you aren't debating any of my points - just beating the "support local" drum over and over. If only it was that simple.

    12. Your points are just that, yours.
My opinions are mine and at least positive!!!
I doubt your negative attitude will help this townsite revitalization.
Just think of me as the drummer leading the troops to battle,

    13. A battle that you will lose. This isn't a fairy tale - a positive attitude will get you nothing.

  4. Any purchase, no matter what the cost from a local business helps the Businessman.
So go spend .50 or 1.00 every bit helps, financially and shows support!
    Now let's move on,,
Again Kudos to 4th and Locust Street.
