At its November 10 meeting, Columbia Borough Council unanimously approved a resolution giving police enforcement powers in Locust Street Park. Council had tabled the resolution at its October 27 Meeting of the Whole to investigate insurance issues related to the agreement. Council subsequently found that its current insurance is sufficient for the lease requirements.
Now the police need to polive the park. No more excuses.
ReplyDeleteThe time has come.
Deletei agree! NO more excuses. ALL us taxpayers expect POLICE PATROL at the park DAILY
ReplyDeleteThat would help.
DeleteThank goodness! The Police need to enforce all the rules posted on the signs at each entrance. also check all bicycles to make sure they are Registered and tagged, according to Ordinace/Code # 555 and Ordinance # 177 - Skateboards / Scooters. and let's not Forget Ordinance # 838 Section 1 - Definition of Disruptive Conduct
ReplyDeleteIt's time for the party to end.
DeleteDid you see there is a broken bench in the park now?
ReplyDeleteA neighbor in that area said the back was broken off a bench and he picked it up and set it in place.
DeleteTime to take care of the kids in the park the party is over police need to get them out of the park so people can walk in the park again.
ReplyDeleteWent past the park on Tues Nov 11 at 6;00 pm and there were still kifds I'n the park where are the police???
ReplyDeleteThe agreement was supposed to have been signed today. That might not have happened due to the holiday (?) Wednesday at the latest, I would guess. The agreement should go into effect immediately thereafter, unless there's some other legal hurdle.
DeleteI saw the police in the park moving the kids on around 6:45. The kids then went over to Janson's.
ReplyDeleteYes, the group that was moved was hanging at Janson's - wouldn't move for me to cross over cherry street - I'd assume that park has rules/regulations also.
ReplyDeleteI spoke with a friend who resides across from the Playground that the Gang is now hanging up there and not the Park, the same rules apply here, that is also part of the Old Ground Association, in fact any Park within the Borough Limits should fall under the new guidelines, if not these unruly brats will just walk all over our Police Force, the Broken bench for instance, I could probably tell you who did it but it turns out he said she said, put more camera's up, arrest them, send fines to the Parents, put there ass in Jail or Barnes Hall if it still even operates as a Youth Detention Center anymore. The Police now have the force with them, get off your ass and go clean house!!!
DeleteSaw police moveing kids out of the park Tues night at 7:00 pm way to go
ReplyDeleteGood. Sorry I missed it.
DeletePolice were moving kids out of the park again tonight hope they keep at it and that these kids soon get the message that they don't belong there.
ReplyDeleteWill see how is goes this weekend during daylight hours too with skateboards etc. the Police need to be reminded of ALL the rules in the park. one is NOT in there from dusk to dawn not 8 pm.
ReplyDeleteditto. police need to keep em out of the park.....period. taxpayers pay their salaries. not the punk kids.
